XP Deus 2

If you mention simultaneous multi-frequency to most detectorists there will be one brand that comes to mind. Minelab. They have dominated the market since the 90s’, first with BBS machines such as the Sovereign in 1991, followed by the FBS Explorer Series in 1999 and the Equinox and its “Multi-IQ’ system in 2017. And of course, we now have the more budget-friendly Vanquish series which also incorporates “Multi-IQ”.

The patents for FBS simultaneous-multi frequency detection technology were held by Minelab until a couple of years ago when they expired. This left the door open for other manufacturers to develop their own simultaneous multi-frequency machines. Garrett was first out of the gate with their Ace Apex. A really nice machine but let down slightly by a slow recovery speed.

Nokta Makro recently announced their own simultaneous multi-frequency machine which uses the housing from the Simplex+ along with an improved shaft, coil and their own version of simultaneous multi-frequency operation which, apparently is not based on Minelab’s FBS. This should make for a much better machine than the Garrett Ace Apex, with faster recovery speed and better target signal processing. XP_BH-01And now XP has entered the arena with the Deus II.

What Makes The Deus II Special

The Deus II is the first wireless, multi-frequency metal detector with some very unique features and performance. Once the coil, remote control, headphones and pinpointer are paired, they communicate with each other wirelessly and without latency using the XP patented radio protocol system. This means that the target signals generated by the search coil are quickly transmitted to the headphones without any delay, giving the DEUS II unparalleled speed and accuracy. The DEUS II can perform well in all terrain and conditions, both on land and at sea, thanks to FMF® (Fast Multi-Frequency) technology.

Choose the Fast and simultaneous Multi-Frequency programs or between 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz.

Also available is the first bone conduction headphones designed for metal detecting, BH-01. Made in France by XP, it is IP68 waterproof to 20 m so that you can dive with your Deus II.

Deus II Versions

There will be two versions of Deus II available.

DEUS2-22FMFRCWS6 with the 9″ (22.5cm) FMF coil (x 49 frequencies), the S TELESCOPIC Stem, the DEUS II remote control and the WS6 wireless headphones.

DEUS2-28FMFRCWS6 with the 11″ (28cm) FMF coil (x 49 frequencies), the S TELESCOPIC Stem, the DEUS II remote control and the WS6 wireless headphones.

Pricing & Availability

There has been no indication as to when the new XP Deus II will be available to buy although given that Nokta Makro has stated that they expect to have their new machine in stores before the end of 2021 it could be that XP will look to get the Deus II in stores by Christmas.

Even if it moves to 2022 it will be worth the wait. XP is renowned for producing superb, high-quality machines and the new Deus II is bound to raise the bar even further.

XP Deus II Price

The price for Both 9″ and 11″ coil options with remote and WS6 headphones will be £1399.00 (UK).

  1. NO MATTER WHAT THE COST I WANT ONE!!!!!!

  2. Cost in the UK is £1450 so definitely not cheap but as a long term investment it may well be worth it 🙂

  3. No coloured screen that is a shame would have liked to have seen that feature for the price will stick with my Minelabs and wait for feedback from users for now at least.

  4. Same here Dave. I really thought they would have gone to a colour screen but I guess the important thing is the info it provides and how accurate it is. In any case, at £1450 I won’t be swapping my Nox for one just yet. I need to see what it does on the wet sand that my Nox and Vanquish do not and then decide if the £550 price increase over the Nox 800 is worth it.

  5. Dues11 I still think it’s a good detector if you compare it with other detectors in the market, but still for me even if I own one it’s not up to my desired ,as a future detector what I will like to see colourful screen and digital like a phone settings and to have full screen from one side to the other so it can be suitable specially for the old ones that they problem with their eye side ,Dues 11 I’m afraid they fail to see this because you need classes to see what on the screen ,and for last I like a detector actually to show on the screen in inches of your dept target and as a detector to be able to detect at least on a small coin up to 16” at least,
And if is possible to show on the screen the shape of the object.
You produce something like what I mention above and you will the take the market by storm.

  6. The Deus II is a great machine but I agree it needs a bigger, clearer screen. I use a Deus II WS6 Master. The screen on that is of course, smaller but I can read it ok when wearing my glasses. I feel that the WS6 Master is much better value for money than the full Deus II. I has almost all the same features but at so much less cost.
