Quest X10 – Is There A Better Value Metal Detector On The Market?
Quest made quite a splash when they entered the market with their Q series detectors back in 2015. First there was the game changing highly specced multi frequency Quest Pro. This was followed by the Q40 along with the mid-range Q20 in 2017. All extremely well made and and with great features such as built in USB rechargeable batteries and weather proof control boxes. Now Quest have give us the new X range. There are two models at the moment. The entry level X5 and the slightly better featured X-10.
Both models feature the following spec:
- TurboD Double D Coil.
- USB Rechargeable Built In Battery.
- Weatherproof Control Box
- Under 1Kg weight for no strain easy all day detecting.
- Removable middle stem for child friendly sizing.
- Intuitive Program Menu
- Target ID Indicator.
- Mud Guard.
- Built In Flash Light.
- 3.5mm Audio Jack.
The X10 also adds an extra user program and has slightly better sensitivity giving more depth.
The really interesting thing is that the coils on the X series are fully interchangeable with those from the Q series. This makes the X series probably the most versatile entry level detectors on the marker at the moment and given the great build quality of the X5 and X10 it means they have the sort of longevity you would normally only expect from detectors costing at least three times the price.
Talking of price the X5 comes in at a very affordable £159.00 here in the UK and the X10 will only set you back £189.00.
