Quest X10 IDMaxX Now Available In The UK
After quite a prolonged delay the new Quest X10 IDMAXX has now gone on sale in the UK priced at £249.00.
Full details on the X10 IDMAXX are in our previous article along with information about the X5 IDMAXX, which unfortunately does not seem to be available yet.
The problem for Quest is that, because it has taken so long for the X10 IDMAXX to appear in the UK the machine now finds itself overshadowed by the recent price drops from Nokta. The Quest X10 IDMAXX is a single frequency machine running at 12 kHz. And although it is certainly an improvement over the old X10 Pro it is now up against the multi-frequency Nokta Score which is currently selling for just £279.00.
The Nokta Score has a single frequency of 15 kHz plust 3 x simultaneous multi-frequency modes. It also has a telescopic shaft and importantly, you can use your own choice of low latency APTX Bluetooth headphones with it. So this is now a cost vs benefits situation. To purchase the Quest X10 IDMAXX with headphones you would be paying £318.00 whereas to purchase the Nokta Score with a pair of Creative Jam V2 Low Latency headphones will only cost £304.00. Given that you are getting a simultaneous mutli-frequency machine in the Nokta Score it would seem to be the better choice.
The Quest IDMAXX is no doubt a good machine but is this perhaps a case of too little, too late?
