QUEST V80 GOES ON SALE
It has been a long time coming, and truthfully, many of us thought it would never happen, but the Quest V80 is now on sale. Albeit in very few places. One of these places is treasurehunters.co.za, where you will find the Quest V80 selling for R1399/£578.52. (Please note that treasurehunters.co.za cannot sell these machines outside of South Africa. Please do not email the company asking them to ship a V80 to your country).
The Quest V60, V80, and the new Q35 are also now available in Canada from Metalix, and in Australia from Phase Technical.
The V60, V80 and Q35 are available in the UK from Quest distributor, Spin A Disc. They also have a warranty service centre for UK buyers.
It had long been suspected that Quest would not release the V80 due to patent issues with Minelab, who, we understand, had threatened legal action against Quest if they were to put the V80 on sale in the USA. This does not, of course, mean that Quest had violated any Minelab patents, simply that fighting such an action would be more costly than the alternative, which is a loss of sales in the American market.
We have been informed that the Quest V80 will go on sale in Europe at the end of August.
For now, though, the V80 is available for purchase in South Africa, Canada, the UK and Australia, and I am sure we will be seeing plenty of reviews from our friends in those territories in the not-too-distant future.
As previously mentioned, the countries where the machines are available cannot ‘normally’ sell outside of their own territory. Contact your local dealer or get in touch with Quest directly for information about when the V80 will be available for purchase in your area.
Great review by Treasure Hunters below. Well worth a watch.

I have asked Quest regarding V80 shipments to the EU and they said it will happen mid to late August.
Hopefully all goes as planned because I want to put my hands on it. 🙂
Thanks for the update. I sincerely hope that is indeed the case. We know the Q35 should be available by the end of the month but Quest had made no announcement about when the V60/V80 would be available to purchase.
