We have more information on the new Quest SimultiQ range of metal detectors, particularly the top-of-the-line S-PRO model.

Unlike the current V80, which tops out at 80 kHz in HyperQ mode and 60 kHz in single selectable frequency mode, the S-PRO will be limited to 40 kHz in both single-frequency and simultaneous multi-frequency modes. This seems like a sensible decision, as stretching the frequency spectrum too wide for a single coil can be problematic. The new coils for the S-Series also include enhanced shielding to help combat the effects of EMI and improve stability.

The specification is not that dissimilar to the V80. There is no gyro function in the S-PRO, and as mentioned, the frequency spread is limited to 40 kHz. The telescopic shaft appears to be the same as the one on the V60. There is no mention of the carbon fiber shaft that comes as standard with the V80. The headphones are also the same.

The other models in the range, S30, S40, and S50, have varying levels of functionality, with prices set accordingly. More information on each model will be available soon.
