Quest Q30, Q50 and Q60 Specs And Pricing.
To my, mind Quest was responsible for completely changing the metal detector market when toward the end of 2015 they brought out the Quest Pro. This machine gave us a fully waterproof and submersible control box, a choice of three selectable frequencies, a built-in rechargeable battery and really slick telescopic stem. Coupled with a very modern-looking interface I think it is safe to say they set the bar high whilst keeping the price relatively low.
Other manufacturers were playing catch up ever since. And now, of course, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to low cost, high spec machines. Last year we saw the release of the Nokta Makro Simplex+ with its fully waterproof, submersible design, wireless audio capability, telescopic stem and very “Quest like” control box.
There is no denying that the Simplex+ is a fantastic machine for the price but now there are other contenders coming to the market. Minelab have the Vanquish with its Multi-IQ tech taken directly from the market-leading Equinox. This is due in stores end of January and is sure to be a big seller, especially for those beach hunters amongst us. And Quest has just released details of their new machines which we can expect to see around March/April time.
We already knew that Quest had three new machines. The top of the range Q60 which replaces the Quest Pro. The Q50 which takes the place of the Q40 and the Q30 which nicely fills the slot currently occupied by the Q20.
However, we now have the full spec for these machines along with the suggested retail pricing.

If that “enhanced beach performance” lives up to expectations then I think Quest may have a winner on their hands with this new Q series. The existing Q20 and Q40 work fine on the beach…with a little tweaking and hopefully, the Q30, Q30+ and Q60 will be even better.
UPDATE APRIL 2020!
We now know the retail prices of the machines and these have been updated above. We also know the Q50 has been renamed to the Q30+ and the price dropped.
