Whites Metal Detectors A little Nostalgia and Repairs

Post by Sol »

I think most of us who have been in the hobby for a few years will be very familiar with the Whites brand. In fact I "think" a Whites Beachcomber may have been my first machine or at least one of my first machines. If memory serves it had the "Savo Electronics" label on it and I think the year would have been 1977. Happy days indeed :)

However, time marches on and some brands have struggled in recent years. Unfortunately after a valiant struggle, Whites had succombed to financial realities and closed its doors.

I often receive emails from Whites users wanting repairs to their machines. So it is a good thing that Garrett stepped in and provided a little more longevity for the Whites brand.

Back in October 2020, Garrett Electronics acquired White’s Electronics, including the White’s trademarks, intellectual property, tooling, and other non-real estate assets.

As a part of the acquisition, Garrett provided owners with access to White’s manuals, while Centreville Electronics and Centreville Electronics NW provide repair and warranty services.

Current White’s customers in need of repair or warranty service should contact:
