XP Deus II Lite Coming Soon!
The XP Deus II is, without a doubt, a fantastic metal detector. Fully waterproof, submersible to 60 meters and with its multi-frequency mode it works extremely well on the salt wet sand. All this comes at a price and whilst it could be argued that you are making a long-term investment, £1400 is still just a bit too much of a stretch for many of us.
But what if you could have “most” of the features in a much cheaper package? Enter the Deus II Lite. An affordable way into the world of Deus II.
What Is It?
The Deus II Lite is essentially the WS6 headphone part of the Deus II with the stem and coil. The WS6 headphones have what XP call a “puck” removable controller unit within them and this can be used to control all the features of the Deus II all be it from a smaller LCD screen.
Without the Deus II remote control, the WS6 can be a stand-alone unit and connect with the coil for an extremely ergonomic and lightweight configuration. The WS6 Module can be unclipped and mounted on the stem to make the most of the control screen, the target display and all the settings. It is then ideally supplemented by the WSA II or WSA II-XL wireless headphones (coming soon).
So what are the downsides to all this? Well, the WS6 control unit is not waterproof however you can keep it out of the rain by slipping it into a pocket. And it goes without saying that you cannot dive with it!
There are currently no wireless headphones that will work with the WS6 but they are coming soon!
And of course, you are limited to a much smaller LCD screen on which to alter settings.
Apart from these limitations, everything is the same as Deus II.
Availability & Pricing
The WS6 is already available as a separate part in some regions. The Deus II Lite complete package will start shipping in September 2022.
The price has yet to be announced but we estimate it will be somewhere around the £1000 mark, which is still a lot of money but when you take into account the considerable features of the Deus II, most of which are present in the Deus II Lite, it could be money very well spent.
We will be testing the Deus II Lite as soon as it becomes available.
